In an entirely uneventful game, the JV men’s soccer team of Monterey Trail High School was able to hold their own in securing a tie against Florin, 0-0. Florin, known by many to be the easiest team to beat in the Elk Grove Unified School District, proved themselves to be an equal opponent to that of the JV men’s soccer team.
With the end of the season approaching, one can only ask: will the Mustangs be able to bounce back? With few wins tucked under their belts and only two games to go, the belived outcome of the games in the coming weeks is not that to be celebrated.

Doesn’t that seem a bit arrogant? I apologize; I don’t mean to sound offending. But the game itself was pretty exciting, in my opinion. It’s all a matter of choosing to be subjective or objective on the matter, I guess. Even still, I truly believed the game was really cool, and the Varsity game was cool, too. Perhaps, maybe, a more “glass half-full” view would lighten the ridicule on our Mustangs? But, hey, whatever your opinion is, it’s yours. I believe our Mustangs tried their best, just like Florin did. We aren’t like Folsom, nor St. Francis/Jesuit, but, even still, we play with that knowledge that we aren’t THAT great, and we do pretty well. Personally, I have never played soccer until my freshman year, and I really sucked. Everyone knew it, too. I’m still a bit inexperienced at soccer, but I still try, at least. Maybe next game would prove otherwise. Either way, I still support our Mustangs group.
