Monterey again opens the game as they find the first score without any hassle. Laguna pulls together an effort for their own score, and the Mustangs then trot their way in for another quick and clean shot. The first quarter subsides with Monterey at the lead, 1-2.
During the second quarter, the Mustangs double their score, as they continue to keep their offense on the move with excellent passes. The Mustangs hold a lead of 1-4 by the end of the second. Monterey quickly begins counting off points as they score two more with the start of the third. Laguna Creek gains a short break as they salvage a point, the Mustangs then regain the streak as they once double their score. At the end of the 3rd quarter, Monterey expands the breach with the lead, 2-8.
With the pressures extremely high for Laguna Creek during the fourth, they stumble upon a point. Monterey clutch another point, as they hold a 6 point lead with the score at 3-9. With the clock running as the score stands, the Mustangs win the game 3-9.
