Yes, you’ve heard right folks. Key club was cancelled again for what feels like the umteenth time .

The Annual Awake-a-thon by Key Club at Florin High School, originally scheduled to take place December 5-6, has been cancelled after being postponed for the third time. The reason for the last attempt being cancelled is held confidential to Florin High. The most likely reason that is being considered is the lack of chaperones needed to satisfy the student to chaperon ratio. The money collected for this event was meant to be donated to the Children’s Caucher Research Fund, as well as the Pediatric Trauma Program. The money now is to be returned to their original sponsors. Due to this cancellation, there will not be another Florin Awake-a-thon rescheduled for the 2009-2010 school year; however, according to Key Club’s president, Johnny Pham, Pleasant Grove will be hosting an Awake-a-thon somewhere in March-May in 2010.
