Monterey Trail High School held their first annual Ten Minute Play Competition. The competition features five different playwrights each written and directed by Monterey Trail High School students.  Each play competed for a chance to perform at the EGUSD Theatre Fest held at Sheldon High School.  The competition was held from Thursday January 14 thru Friday January 15th.  Audience members would vote at the end of the competition to choose who should move on to the EGUSD Theatre Fest.

While the votes were being counted MTHS Comedy Sportz team performed their hilarious improvisations.  Monterey Trail High School Theatre Producer Mrs. Townsend came out at the end to announce who the winners were. In second place was “When Friends Seek Help” directed and written by Deborah Robinson, Dominic Bobo, and Yetsin Sanchez.  The winner of the competition was…(drumroll)…”Robot Wife” directed and written by Jesse Palnikov, Jerry Miranda, and Hui Buy.  These two playwrights will perform at the EGUSD Theatre Fest.  Good Job to all the playwrights, directors, writers, actors, and MTHS Theatre Program. Go Mustangs!!!

honestly i think that it wouldve been a great idea to have ALL of the plays in the 10 minute play competition. it was really good and fun. it shouldve been longer and added things to it…but good for a first
