 Monster’s lend a helping hand….

The Key Club monsters are having an awake-a-thon for the Children’s Gaucher Research Fund & Pediatric Trauma Prevention. Help Key Club donate money to the Children’s Gaucher Research Fund and you can help save many young children’s lives. If you do not know what is Gaucher, it’s a disease that mostly affects young people. It’s a genetic disorder, which causes old cells to be stored in areas such as the liver, spleen, lungs, lymph system, and bones.

The purpose of the fund is to “raises funds to coordinate and support research aimed at finding a cure for Gaucher disease (Type 2 and Type 3) as well as providing support to families who have children who battle this disease.” Their goals are to find a cure for the gaucher disease type 2 and type 3. Type 2 and type 3 are serious because it’s not like type 1, which it affects the brain. The use of the fund goes to a medical research for the cure of Gaucher.

Justin Long, a member of Key Club, told Voices from the Trail, “The purpose for this fundraiser is to help raise money for research funds so we can help support gaucher. Our pledge is to pledge for the awake-a-thon to help the communities to find a cure.”  To find out more information contact Johnny Pham or Justin Long via school loop. The fundraising ends on Monday November 7, 2009.
