Halloween is the time of the year to be creative; it’s the time to express your “other” side. Halloween gives most of us a chance to be someone we’re not. What with all the economic problems our country is dealing with, Voices from the Trail has some easy and inexpensive suggestions to offer.
Some of you can open your closet right up and come to find that you already own several Halloween costumes. You can put together a whole outfit for Halloween with the things you already have.
Pirates are always a favorite during Halloween. All you need is a bandana around your head and boots, which most of you may already own since winter is rolling right around. Of course, dark fabric that is flapped over and wrapped around your lower leg works just as well. Girls can wear a skirt with tattered bottoms, while guys can tuck loose pants into their boots or cut the bottom to make a ragged edge. Add a loose unbuttoned shirt on top with a vest and a belt, and BAM, there you have it. It’s just way too easy to take old clothes and make something new out of them. Vampires will also be a big one this year. They seem to be everywhere, from books to movies, and now to costume ideas; they will definitely not be hard to find this time around. After all, everyone loves a sparkly “Edward Cullen”. Dressing up as Harry Potter is always fun and easy. Just grab a cape, collared shirt, tie, and some round glasses and you’re good to go.
Michael Jackson will be remembered this Halloween as well. Who doesn’t appreciate the great King of Pop? If you are looking for group costumes, “Where the Wild Things Are” is the way to go. Couples costume include the classic Ketchup and Mustard bottles, the Mac and PC guys, and, of course, Edward and Bella.
