With a new decade just beginning, Fashion Club wanted to bring the New Year’s hottest looks to MTHS with their “new year new wear fashion show”. Voices from the Trail caught up with the Fashion Club before the show to get the low-down on what these fashionistas had in store for their debut.  In between the scurrying to get dressed, last minute clothing decisions and warnings not to fall off stage, Voices from the Trail was able to catch up with model Angelica Moss and seek insight on the Fashion Club and the show. “We didn’t make the clothes [modeled in the show] but we did mix and match the clothes to create outfits, using our own personal style” Moss remarked. The senior with a passion for fashion summed up her clubs purpose and members with four words: “We just love clothes”.

The show began with host Troy Terry,  acting as a comic relief for the crowd. President Ryan Cheung and Stephanie Hang thanked the audience for participation and, without further ado, the show began. Models ranging from freshman to seniors strutted their stuff, clad in floral print shirts, dresses and skirts. The next selection was outerwear in which the models sashayed in leather jackets, jeans and cardigans. The lights faded to black for the audience during intermission and a spotlight was placed on a soulful duo, serenading the crowd with “Baby” by Jojo and “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia keys, adding a musical element to the show. The New Year new wear fashion show closed with dressy wear and accessories, such as knitted caps, hoop earrings and bracelets.

Voices from the Trail spoke with Ms, Sezto, the Fashion Club advisor, to ask her feelings about the show. “It was fun, the kids really got into it and it went smoothly, we had a great turn out as well” Sezto reflected while being bombarded by her models with pleas to join in on the group photo.

The Fashion show was a great success – in case you missed it don’t  fret, a little birdie informed Voices From the Trail that a prom expo will be held by the Fashion Club, with information and vendors on makeup, hair and prom attire.
